We work very hard to ensure that children have a smooth transition into Nursery and Reception.
We hope you found the administration meeting useful. As we are unable to provide an onsite induction meeting, there is a link to the induction presentation and a virtual tour of the Early Years environment to share with your child below.
Due to the current situation, we will be unable to carry out home visits this year. Instead, an appointment has been made for a classroom visit to meet the teacher ahead of the allocated start date and you will receive a letter detailing the date and time for this. Visits will take place on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September. These visits will provide an opportunity for you to meet staff and talk about your child’s individual needs.
Like all year groups, Year 1 has government statutory schemes of learning to follow. The children will be assessed at the end of the year to see if they have reached the expected standard. All children are supported in order to achieve this and are given extra support and guidance if needed. The organisation and timetable for the day looks a little different to that experienced in Reception.
Take a look at the virtual tour to get an idea of what learning will be like in Year 1.
