Today, our pupils had a brilliant day at our partner school, CEIP Princesa Tejina. From a colourful aviary of Canarian birds to a climbing wall and spacious playground, the school grounds – set against a backdrop of mountains and sea views – sparked immediate excitement. Language was no barrier—friendships quickly formed over games of football and volleyball, with pupils making every effort to speak in Spanish to their peers. This will also serve them well tomorrow when we head to Siam Park – a world-famous water park in the south of the island – with a group of our new Spanish friends from school.
The morning was packed with lessons in las matemáticas, el inglés and la música, giving pupils a real taste of Spanish school life. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to practise Spanish in real-life settings was a joy to see.
In the afternoon, pupils cooled off in the hotel pool and enjoyed a relaxed picnic lunch. After evening showers, pupils tucked into a delicious serving of traditional Spanish paella at the hotel restaurant—which went down a treat! It’s a pleasure to see them embracing and reflecting on the cultural aspects of Spanish life. They’re truly making the most of their Tenerife experience.
