Day 5 – Turing Tenerife Trip May 2025

Today marked our final day at our partner school,  and pupils made the most of every moment with their new Spanish friends. They joined in with a range of lessons, with the highlight being a lively dance session, where local pupils were rehearsing a traditional folk dance for the upcoming Canary Islands Day (Día de Canarias)—a regional celebration held on 30th May, honouring Canarian culture through music, dance, food, and traditional dress. After heartfelt goodbyes, we returned to Puerto de la Cruz for a relaxed lunch by the beach front, followed by some long-awaited gift and souvenir shopping under the warm Canarian sun. Back at the hotel, pupils packed their bags with keepsakes and memories, wrote postcards home, and enjoyed a final dinner…

Back at the hotel, pupils packed their bags with keepsakes and memories, wrote postcards home, and enjoyed a final dinner in the restaurant. The hotel restaurant staff—who have been incredibly kind, welcoming and full of praise for the pupils’ manners, positivity and energy—wished us a warm farewell.

Although there’s a touch of sadness as the trip draws to a close, pupils are excited to return home, share their adventures, and reflect on everything they’ve learned and experienced. With hearts full and friendships formed, we begin our journey back—grateful for an unforgettable week in Tenerife. ¡Hasta pronto! (See you soon!)
