Pupil voice is valued from the earliest years, with a wide range of roles and groups available starting in EYFS. Each year we host an annual Pupil Voice Fayre, where children learn about the different opportunities and apply for roles, encouraging responsibility, confidence and democratic participation. Importantly, our pupil voice work goes beyond the school gates: groups are encouraged to think about how they can support and give back to the local community, building strong links and making a real difference outside of school. This approach helps pupils develop leadership, empathy and a sense of civic responsibility, while ensuring they understand that their ideas and actions can have a positive impact in the wider world.
Pupil Voice Experience
We spoke to a few of our children across the Federation to hear about their Pupil Voice experiences. Please view the video below to hear what they had to say.
Pupil Voice Fayre 2023
On Thursday 28th September, Southwold hosted the annual Pupil Voice Fayre.
This gave children the opportunity to explore a range of different committees that they might like to be a part of this year.
Children applied for their chosen responsibility and class teachers appointed two children from each year group.
