Year 1 History – Florence Nightingale

In the Autumn  term Year 1 were learning about the life and times of Florence Nightingale. Through role play the children travelled back in time to the Scutari hospital during the Crimean War in order to try to and experience the difficult environment at that time. One of Florence’s tasks was to clean the hospital wards to try to prevent the spread of disease and infection.
