Year 5 PGL trip

Day 1 We have all arrived safely to PGL and are very much looking forward to our time ahead! As we arrived, we had the chance to meet the Year 5 pupils from Hoxton and Orchard and enjoyed getting to know each other over lunch.  We kicked off our activities with orienteering, where each team was given a map and worked together to explore the centre. The next activity was high ropes — jumping off the trapeze really tested our resilience and ambition. After dinner, we enjoyed a Games Night, taking part in more team games hosted by the PGL leaders. We are looking forward to seeing what day 2 has in store for us! Day 2 We started our…

Day 1

We have all arrived safely to PGL and are very much looking forward to our time ahead!

Day 2

We started our day bright and early with a delicious, filling breakfast! We then headed to our first activity of the day: problem solving. This required us to communicate effectively with our peers and work together to tackle a variety of challenges.

Our second session was the most exciting of the day: ziplining! We conquered our fears and enjoyed cheering on our teammates. After lunch, we took part in a sensory trail. Wearing blindfolds to eliminate our sense of sight, we followed a trail through the woods using only our four remaining senses.

Our final activity was raft building. We worked as a team to construct a sturdy raft that we could paddle across the lake. Most of us ended up in the water, but the cool down was welcome after such hot weather. This evening, we are looking forward to dinner, a visit to the gift shop, and spending time with our friends at the PGL disco!

Day 3

We started our day bright and early today! First, we headed to the dining hall for a scrumptious breakfast to fuel us for the day ahead. Our first activity was called “Survivor”, where we learned essential life skills such as how to build a tent and light a fire — just in case we ever need to survive in the wild!

Our final session at PGL was “The Giant Swing”. It was incredibly fun, and we all enjoyed the thrill of swinging high through the air. After lunch, we will be heading back home. It is been an amazing experience, packed with exciting, fun-filled activities that we will never forget!
