Today, our pupils touched down in Tenerife for their Turing Scheme study visit, launching a week-long project with our partner school focused on water sustainability across the island. It’s also an invaluable opportunity to put their Spanish skills into practice and build friendships with their Spanish peers.
The group was full of energy as we set off, making the most of the 4-hour flight with games, reading, drawing, journaling—and even a little Spanish practice. A few even managed a siesta to recharge for the busy days ahead! Spirits soared as pupils caught their first glimpse of the island’s iconic volcano from the plane, and fellow travellers commented on how polite and mature the group was throughout the journey.
After landing, we travelled by private coach to our hotel, taking in the stunning coastal views and diverse Canarian landscape along the way. It’s been a long day of travel, but we’ve arrived safe, happy, and ready for an exciting week ahead.
Tomorrow, we head to a banana plantation to learn about the agriculture of one of the island’s most famous exports. We can’t wait to share more updates and photos as the adventure continues!
