Debate Mate Team Battle to the Final

Debate Mate are thrilled to share the wonderful feedback we received from one of the organisers of last week’s Debate Mate competition: “I just wanted to let you know how fantastically your students performed at the Debate Mate Final. You should be incredibly proud of them for being runners-up in such a competitive event. With 16 teams participating, it was a very close final and reaching that stage is a huge achievement. As part of the Debate Mate programme, they will continue to apply their learning, build confidence and have more opportunities to participate in future debates and competitions. Your students were confident speakers, making insightful points, presenting well-reasoned arguments and really commanding the floor. They were a true credit…

“I just wanted to let you know how fantastically your students performed at the Debate Mate Final.

They were a true credit to Southwold. While being runners-up can be challenging, they should feel proud of their accomplishments. I am also sharing some photos of them in action, as well as with the Deputy Mayor Bramble, who was so impressed with their debating skills that they could potentially pursue a career in politics!

Well done to Year 5 and 6 – what an amazing representation of our school community!
