Year 6 pupils took part in a Spanish translation workshop run by Queen’s College Translation Exchange from Oxford University. Their mission is to inspire lifelong engagement in languages and international culture, and to encourage young language-learners to continue with their studies through their schooling and beyond. Pupils worked collaboratively with their peers from other schools to explore the skills required to translate a text effectively. By the end of the workshop, pupils had translated an entire story from Spanish to English by working creatively to apply their new translation techniques with their prior Spanish knowledge.
