Day 2 – Tenerife Trip May 2026

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, pupils were ready for another exciting day exploring Tenerife. We began the morning with a walk down to the beachfront, where pupils were fascinated by the striking black volcanic sand, the crashing Atlantic waves and the many lagartos (lizards) basking in the sunshine along the promenade. Pupils took advantage of the many photo opportunities! From there, we wandered into the bustling town centre of Puerto de la Cruz, taking in the lively atmosphere, colourful buildings and local shops as pupils continued to spot the many differences between life in Tenerife and London. From there, we wandered into the bustling town centre of Puerto de la Cruz, taking in the lively atmosphere, colourful buildings and local shops as pupils continued to spot the many differences between life in Tenerife and London.

After returning to the hotel, the afternoon was spent enjoying the swimming pool, playing games and having fun with new amigos from across both schools.

Following showers and some quiet time documenting the week so far in their diaries, pupils headed to dinner where many trying traditional Spanish delicacies from the buffet, including calamari and paella.

The evening ended at the hotel’s mini disco, where pupils enthusiastically joined in with dances, games and plenty of balloon-animal fun before heading to bed after a relaxed but enjoyable day.

Tomorrow we travel to the south of the island to visit Las Margaritas Banana Plantation to discover how bananas are grown in Tenerife. We look forward to share the next part of our Tenerife adventure!
