Music is a very important part of school life. Lessons are typically practical with singing and playing a variety of tuned and un-tuned instruments to develop a broad range of skills.
Children learn to control sounds through singing, playing, rehearsing and performing with others. They develop their own musical ideas through improvising and composing and learn how to appraise music by analysing, talking about and responding to music. Children are given opportunities to listen to a wide variety of different types of music including music from different cultures.
Extra-curricular music is positively encouraged. We have an active choir, clubs and a variety of additional instrumental teaching available including drumming, violin, guitar and keyboard. For more information on prices and availability please contact the School Office.
